Hello - I'm Ross - I am a dad to one, little 'Moose' our adopted son. There is a tendency to pre-fix dad with 'adoptive' dad or 'gay' dad, but actually, he calls me daddy, no pre-fixes, I am his dad!

My day job is in education, which I have moved into after a successful career in theatre, but I knew that had to go when creating our family became more of a life focus. The work-life balance was not the one!

My first ever book Time To Be Dad was released in May 2024.

Lastly, our adoption journey - it is wild, I say 'it is', as I feel we are on a never-ending journey! Moose was placed with us in early April '23 - he is the most perfect addition to our family. That doesn't mean everything goes perfectly! I have always found it hard to see others' true adoption stories, the bits that aren't all lullabies and fairytales, and that has been really hard to find. Hence my blog...welcome!
